ATTEND SERVICES
The best way to get involved firtsly is to get to know your community by worshipping together as a Christian family! Attend a Sunday Service at one of our churches and get to know your community better. This is also a great way to nurture your relationship with God or if you haven't developed one, to begin a relationship with God. Service is a great way to learn more about God through Jesus and his teachings. Jesus taught us a lot about how to love God and love one another. In worship we use prayer and singing to get closer to God and read scripture and reflect on it together as a way to know God through Jesus' teachings and the teachings of other faithful Christians and Jewish brothers/sisters that have helped keep our faith alive.
You don't have to attend worship to know God but it helps to be a part of a community of people whose focus is to be intentional about learning and growing together in faith.

GIVE LOVE - RECEIVE LOVE

LEARN
The key to living a life of faith is to 1) love yourself and 2) reach out and love someone. It isn't selfish to start by loving yourself. God loves you and to love others with that everlasting love you need to be able to receive that first. Learning to love yourself can be easy for some and hard for others. Try your best. Secondly practice loving others. Maybe that means visiting a senior in your community, donating to the food/time to the food-bank, giving to the local women's shelter, donating crafts to the Women's Correctional Facility, or helping someone with yard work. If you think creatively....it could be anything! Giving love to others means sharing in God's blessings. The more you give, the more you receive. Jesus encourages us to remember to acknowledge that our Love comes from one source: God. God made loving God and others our main purpose in life. Above all other commandments Jesus tells us that we should Love God and Love one another.

If you're looking for fellowship and get to know us outside of church we also welcome you to our weekly coffee hour hosted at the UCC Manse here in Hillview.
Remember: you're never alone in faith. You always have God at your side, and you always have other followers to turn to if you need some love.
GET INVOLVED
You can learn more about faith by asking questions. Ask Rev. Lackey or another minister/pastor/priest you trust; ask another congregant; or ask someone you love. You can learn more by reading and reflecting on scripture. You can do this at home or in a group setting. Rev. Lackey hosts Bible Study and anyone is welcome to attend. Ask her and she'll let you know when and where you can join in. Another important step to learning is asking God for help by praying. Pray and ask God to guide you and strengthen you as you learn and grow in faith. You can even ask God to help you find the right people to talk to and the right community of faith. As they say though God can show you where to go but you have to be willing to move your feet to get there.
